Brett Weiner Interview

I was once a Weiner too -- back in the early days LOL.   I met Brett over Facebook and he agreed to share his faith journey on Bagels and Blessings.  You'll enjoy some music honoring Yom Hashoah (Day of Remembrance) and the Israeli Independence Day too.   Lots of great music.  And here's a little bit about Brett:

Brett was raised Christian, but his grandparents were Orthodox Jews. When Brett was in his twenties, the Psalms and the prayer book pronouns became personal to him.  He was told that Abraham would have descendants that would be as numerous as the stars in heaven, and the sands on the seashore and that he could be one of them. He just needed to accept his seed which was one in the Messiah. He loves celebrating the Jewish holidays, especially the Feast of Tabernacles.

Brett and his wife reside in West Springfield Massachusetts and have two adult sons who walk with the Lord.

Kayla Nostrum Interview

Between speaking with Shmuel Salway and then Kayla Nostrum, I think I have a pretty good idea about Lech L'cha Ministries.   What a wonderful organization!

Here is a little bit about Kayla:

Kayla is the oldest of four girls and was raised in a believing family. She was born in Colorado and raised in Kalispell Montana. When Kayla was nineteen years old she moved to Chicago where she attended Moody Bible institute. It was there that Kayla gave her life to the Lord and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pre-counseling. While she was in Chicago the Lord opened her eyes to the Jewish roots of the faith, gave her a burden for the Jewish people and opened the door for her to move to Israel. Kayla has been living and serving there since August 2018. She studied Messianic Studies for a year at Israel College of the Bible, learned Hebrew at Ulpan (Hebrew language school) and is currently serving with a local Israeli discipleship ministry called Lech Lcha (לך לך).

You will also enjoy great music from Jonathan Settel, Deborah Kline-Iantorno, Marty Goetz, Aaron Shust, Paul Wilbur and Sue Samuel.

Steven Kowalsky Interview

I first interviewed Steven maybe 20 years ago.   I thought it was time to have him back!

Steven is the president of Empire Recycling Corporation in Utica, New York, a company that has been owned and operated by the Kowalsky Family for 103 years.
Steven worked for Empire during his teenage years, he then entered Curry College in Massachusetts to study anthropology.  Steven’s  love of music led him to the Institute of Audio Research in New York City, and ultimately landing him in a band in Boulder, Colorado where he was the drummer and band manager.

It was in Colorado that Steven met his wife, Monica.  They are now celebrating 43 years!  They have two children and four grandchildren.  Steven grew up in a Jewish family which established the values that he still holds close today.  Steven and Monica became believers in Yeshua and gave their lives to their Messiah 1994.

As president of Empire Recycling Corporation, and the Empire Recycling Family of Companies, Steven is fortunate that his position provides many opportunities to give back… not only on the corporate level through community partnerships with not-for-profit organizations, but also giving of his time.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rescue Mission of Utica, the Board of Directors and Performing Arts Chair of Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, and He is  a former Board Member of the Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism and Addition and Sitrin Healthcare Foundation. Steven also served as a former Board President for Temple Beth-El.  Steven’s love of music has kept him active on worship teams for 25-years at various Messianic congregations, and he currently in a leadership position at Beit Messiah.

Enjoy some fabulous Sukkot music as well!!

Sherri Friedlander Interview

Nothing happens by coincidence!   I went to a women's retreat in Savannah and "happened" to sit at the same table as Sherri Friedlander and her two adorable daughters.   I learned about "The Strong Road" radio program, hosted by Sherri, her husband and a friend and we had a wonderful time of fellowship.

Besides The Strong Road they are founders of Be One Ministries.

https://www.beonetoday.com/

Here is their story in their own words:

Our journey together began at the University of Georgia. We met and dated throughout college and were married a month after graduation. We each received a BS in Hospitality Management in 1990. After graduation, we dedicated the first year of our marriage to a leadership program called Master's Commission in Phoenix, Arizona. We both received a Christian Worker's License and since, I (Jeff) received an ordination by both the Assembly of God International Fellowship as a minister and the International Alliance of Messianic Congregation and Synagogues (IAMCS) as a Messianic Rabbi.

We have worked hard to build our life together with a dedication to full-time service for the Kingdom of God. We have 4 children, Morgan, Ben, Amanda, and Rachel, who we raised to have a passion for God and a  joy in their spirit. Our dinner table has always been filled with laughter, endless movie quotes and an extra seat for the many guests who have joined us.

Be One Ministries was born out of our desire to be a voice of unity in the Body of Messiah. We see the enemy has a plan to divide the body and we strive to do everything we can to stop that.

Sherri grew up in a Gentile home, came to love the Jewish people and together she and her husband Jeff have a great ministry together.   Hear her wonderful story and enjoy the music of Marty Goetz, Sally Klein O'Connor, Joshua Aaron, Rachel Boskey,Corry Bell, Marty Goetz, Baht Rivka Whitten, Jonathan Settel and The Scheps.

Jeanne Nigro Interview

This week I had the privilege of interviewing Jeanne Nigro, a sweet woman of God.  Jeanne is a frequent speaker at conferences, retreats and congregations, and her blogs are featured regularly with the Messianic Times and Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA). She is the founder of Jeanne Nigro Ministries, which seeks to transform lives around the world through a more intimate relationship with God. The ministry provides teaching and tools to enable believers to receive healing from the lies they have believed about God and themselves, so that they can experience more of His love, wisdom and power in their life.

Prior to her teaching ministry, Jeanne worked in the corporate world for seventeen years as an organizational change consultant. Jeanne and her family reside in Plano, Texas and attend both Bat Zion Messianic Congregation and Prestonwood Baptist Church. Her passion in ministry comes from the healing work that God has done in her own life and her desire to share what she has learned and experienced with others.
Whether she is bringing truths to life from Tanakh, healing strongholds of the heart or preparing believers for the Millennium, her teachings are relevant, practical and life-transforming. Jeanne propels her audiences into an excitement and readiness for Yeshua's return and fosters an experience of greater intimacy with Him. She is passionate about mobilizing the body of Messiah out of their state of fear, passivity and apathy during these uncertain times and into action and purpose. Jeanne's latest book, "Unafraid in these End Times," will be released by Destiny Image in August, 2016.

Paul Wilbur, a well-known Integrity Recording Artist, had this to say about Jeanne, "Healing of the inner man is a life mission for Jeanne Nigro. She has invested many years of research together with volumes of solid Biblical instruction to produce the life-changing teachings she now brings. I have personally attended her classes and have witnessed the eager involvement and results of hurting people. I highly recommend Jeanne and her insights to anyone desiring to walk away from the past and move into freedom".

You'll also enjoy the music of Beckah Shae, Nate Benjamin, Sue Samuel, Joel Chernoff, Marty Goetz and John Waller.
