Lily Isaacs Interview

FIRST TIME EVER ON BAGELS AND BLESSINGS!!!  SOUTHERN GOSPEL/ BLUEGRASS MUSIC FROM THE ISAACS!!!

It was exciting to hear The Isaacs while at the Messiah Conference. I never knew of their connection to Judaism.  Today's show featured a pre-recorded interview with Lily Isaacs, the matriarch of The Isaacs, with a personal story as layered as the group's signature vocals. Born in Germany to two Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivors, Lilly moved to the U.S. when she was two-years-old. Her family settled in the Bronx where she studied theatre and performed off Broadway. In 1971.

The Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group who began singing 35 years ago are based out of Hendersonville, TN. The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences. Their musical style has been influenced by many  genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and country, contemporary, acoustic and southern gospel.

Stewart Winograd Interview

To listen click here

Wow, what a blessing to talk to Rabbi Stewart Winograd!  Stewart and his wife Chantal are the founders and directors of Reach Initiative International (RII). RII’s Mission says, “The Lord has given us a mandate to proclaim the Gospel in word and in action. It is our passion for Yeshua, and our desire to walk in intimacy with Him that motivates us at Reach Initiative International (RII) to bring the Good News of Messiah Yeshua’s love and salvation to those that have not yet heard. We seek to co-labor with the Lord, in the power of the Ruach (Spirit), in this prophesied end time revival of the Jewish people and the nations.”
They do so by ministering to Holocaust survivors and Jewish communities in Eastern Europe and Israeli seekers in India and Israel. They also travel extensively sharing the calling of the work they do for the Kingdom with congregations all over the world.

The Winograds founded a Messianic Jewish congregation in Belarus in the mid-90s and still over see it, as well as other ministries birthed from this work.

Ben & Liz Cassutto Interview

My dear friend Benjamin Cassutto went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2012.  This program is dedicated to his memory.  Ben collected the memoirs of his father, Ernest Cassutto and published them in a book called "The Last Jew of Rotterdam."   The book reveals the struggles of his Dutch-Jewish parents during the Holocaust and shares their faith as believers in Yeshua.  It is a story of love, faith and forgiveness.  I had the privilege of interviewing Ben & his wife Liz at the Messiah Conference in 2002.  You will be inspired and encouraged as you hear their story.   I encourage you to get the book "The Last Jew of Rotterdam."   For more info please go to http://www.lightbeaconministries.com/partners.html.
