Sherri Friedlander Interview

Nothing happens by coincidence!   I went to a women's retreat in Savannah and "happened" to sit at the same table as Sherri Friedlander and her two adorable daughters.   I learned about "The Strong Road" radio program, hosted by Sherri, her husband and a friend and we had a wonderful time of fellowship.

Besides The Strong Road they are founders of Be One Ministries.

https://www.beonetoday.com/

Here is their story in their own words:

Our journey together began at the University of Georgia. We met and dated throughout college and were married a month after graduation. We each received a BS in Hospitality Management in 1990. After graduation, we dedicated the first year of our marriage to a leadership program called Master's Commission in Phoenix, Arizona. We both received a Christian Worker's License and since, I (Jeff) received an ordination by both the Assembly of God International Fellowship as a minister and the International Alliance of Messianic Congregation and Synagogues (IAMCS) as a Messianic Rabbi.

We have worked hard to build our life together with a dedication to full-time service for the Kingdom of God. We have 4 children, Morgan, Ben, Amanda, and Rachel, who we raised to have a passion for God and a  joy in their spirit. Our dinner table has always been filled with laughter, endless movie quotes and an extra seat for the many guests who have joined us.

Be One Ministries was born out of our desire to be a voice of unity in the Body of Messiah. We see the enemy has a plan to divide the body and we strive to do everything we can to stop that.

Sherri grew up in a Gentile home, came to love the Jewish people and together she and her husband Jeff have a great ministry together.   Hear her wonderful story and enjoy the music of Marty Goetz, Sally Klein O'Connor, Joshua Aaron, Rachel Boskey,Corry Bell, Marty Goetz, Baht Rivka Whitten, Jonathan Settel and The Scheps.

Corry Bell Interview-3

So excited to speak with Corry Bell again.   What a delightful woman of God.   She has been through a lot but continues to hold onto God.

Enjoy the music of Lev Shelo and a powerful interview interview!!!

Here is a little bit about Corry in her own words:

I was born into a very secular home, the only girl among 4 children. By the time I was 18 I had no moral compass, although I received my first Bible and asked Yeshua into my heart at Sunday School when I was 6. However, without proper discipleship, I wandered in my faith and ended up living with my boyfriend during my senior year in high school. We were planning to marry, but when those plans fell through, I spiraled into a deep depression and thoughts of suicide plagued my mind constantly. Then, one Sunday morning, my friend “dragged” me to a Calvary Chapel. The music, the casual attire, the atmosphere were nothing like the stuffiness of church I had al-ways experienced. When the pastor gave an altar call, I responded immediately. For the next 22 years, I became plugged into my church, serving, attending Bible studies and participating in worship ministry.

One December day in 2002, I had a conversation with my mom about her Dutch family herit-age. I asked her, “Isn’t your maiden name, Brouwenstijn, (pronounced Brownstein) Jewish?” My mom couldn’t relate to being Jewish as none of her family members were practicing the faith and were not teaching our culture or heritage to their children, but she admitted that it was. Given the horrors of war upon the Jewish people she had witnessed and escaped from in Hol-land, being Jewish was not appealing. Soon afterward, it became increasingly clear to me that God wanted me to immerse myself in the culture of my ancestors. Soon after attending on a regular basis, I was asked to join the worship team at Beth Emunah Messianic Syangogue, lead-ing the worship team for 10 years, and have been serving in our Messianic Jewish community now since 2003. I began a ministry in 2010 called Lev Shelo which means, “His heart” in Hebrew. Our music has hit the global stage with tours to Germany, Holland, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Israel. I am also a freelance journalist, writing for the international publication, The Messianic Times.

Lily Isaacs Interview

FIRST TIME EVER ON BAGELS AND BLESSINGS!!!  SOUTHERN GOSPEL/ BLUEGRASS MUSIC FROM THE ISAACS!!!

It was exciting to hear The Isaacs while at the Messiah Conference. I never knew of their connection to Judaism.  Today's show featured a pre-recorded interview with Lily Isaacs, the matriarch of The Isaacs, with a personal story as layered as the group's signature vocals. Born in Germany to two Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivors, Lilly moved to the U.S. when she was two-years-old. Her family settled in the Bronx where she studied theatre and performed off Broadway. In 1971.

The Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group who began singing 35 years ago are based out of Hendersonville, TN. The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences. Their musical style has been influenced by many  genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and country, contemporary, acoustic and southern gospel.
