Eric Tokajer - 7th Time!

How wonderful to have Rabbi Eric on the show again!

Rabbi Eric was raised in a traditional Jewish home. After his bar mitzvah, he began to study the Hebrew Scriptures more closely which brought many questions to his mind. Questions like if a sacrifice had to be made once a year on Yom Kippur to cover the sins of Israel from year to year how were those sins covered now. When he was unable to find answers from the different rabbis that he asked, he became an agnostic.

While serving in the US Navy, Rabbi Eric was challenged by a believer in Yeshua to study the Scriptures until he found answers within them. While searching the Hebrew Scriptures, Rabbi Eric found belief in Yeshua as the promised Messiah of Israel which brought answers to all of the questions he had. It is now over 33 years ago.

Since then Rabbi Eric studied to become an ordained Rabbi in the IAMCS (International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues). He has served as a Rabbi in Mobile, Alabama. He also helped to establish five synagogues across the Gulf Coast in Slidell, Louisiana; Bayou La Batre, Alabama; Spanish Fort, Alabama; Navarre, Florida, and Brit Ahm Messianic Synagogue in Pensacola, Florida, where he serves as Rabbi today. Rabbi Eric has been married for 42 years to his wife Pammy.

In addition to God Has No Plan B, Rabbi Eric has written; With Me in Paradise, Transient Singularity, #ManWisdom, OY! How Did I Get Here?,Thirty-One Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me Before Entering Ministry, Jesus is to Christianity as Pasta is to Italians, Romans in Context and Simple Shabbat Siddur.

Lily Isaacs - Again!

It isn't every day that you hear country bluegrass music on Bagels and Blessings!   I first aired this interview about 2 years ago after hearing The Isaacs minister at the Messiah Conference.   Imagine my surprise and delight to learn of their Jewish roots!    So enjoy this unique music and also a few Passover tunes!

Today's show featured a pre-recorded interview with Lily Isaacs, the matriarch of The Isaacs, with a personal story as layered as the group's signature vocals. Born in Germany to two Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivors, Lilly moved to the U.S. when she was two-years-old. Her family settled in the Bronx where she studied theatre and performed off Broadway. In 1971.

The Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group who began singing 35 years ago are based out of Hendersonville, TN. The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, The Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences. Their musical style has been influenced by many  genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, and country, contemporary, acoustic and southern gospel.

Judith Benhamou Interview-2

What a joy to have Judith back in the studio!   We were the Two Nice Jewish Girls today!!!   Judith is a wonderful woman of God.  Not only does she lead the prayer ministry at Congregation Shema Yisrael, but she is also an Elder and a dear friend.

God has given her many insights and she shared how He healed her of a broken knee cap in just 2 weeks, and also what He has shown her about getting rid of baggage!

Enjoy the music of Jonathan Settel, Sue Samuel, Beckah Shae and Paul Wilbur.
